Peaceful Nature

I am standing outside on the balcony... a beautiful sunny winter day... How calm is everything, how peaceful is everything I see around me; the trees, the wind, the sun, a few clouds here and there, plains, hills, mountains...

Tomorrow, it is going to snow and everything around me is going to be different, everything is going to change; the trees, mountains and even me. But still, the nature is going to be calm and peaceful ...

An ever-changing nature is always peaceful ...

Just as every single tree around me is just a part of nature, so am I only a part of nature and nothing more... I am one with the nature and there is nothing, but my mind, that prevents me from being just as calm and just as peaceful as the nature...

Accepting the world as it is, living solely in the present moment and being grateful for what I have... Yes, the mind stops preventing me from being peaceful!

There is no tree, there is no mountain, there is no Me. Oh, how magnificent is this Nature!

End Of The World?

Question: "What will happen, if it comes to the end of the world? Is the end of the world approaching?"

Answer: "I think this is a nice story, but it doesn't matter to us and our problems not even a little bit. It is only good, because it helps us realize the constant change around us and what really matters is the way you see these constant changes. Just look at yourself when you were 10 years younger and look at yourself now - was that really you? We all change and not just every year but also every second. The world around us also changes - just look at the constant circle of winter, spring, summer, autumn and again winter.

So we see that the world is more than just a change, it is also a never ending circle! We are born, we live, we die and we are born again and so on just like the winter comes after autumn and again summer comes after spring. Night comes after day and day comes after night - it is the same with our lives. Why would it be different if we are a part of nature and a part of this world?

What I am trying to say here is, that if we really manage to destroy our beautiful planet, it will not end this constant circle - it will be just another change. We, however, with all our problems, which we carry on after this human life, will still exist and not a single one of these problems will end with the "end of the world" - we'll just have one more problem!

And the solution in my opinion: Think about yourself, how certain can you be that you will survive another day of this human life??? You cannot be sure! It is also true that everything changes and it is also true that these changes bring you unhappiness, because you loose your loved ones, your beloved objects, you get older and death is nearing, vacation ends, your cat dies, your favorite trip to Himalaya ends, and so on...

So we should focus on how to end this unhappiness and not how the world is going to end! We can only do that by realizing that these changes happen and START NOT TO EXPECT THAT THEY WON'T HAPPEN! Because that is exactly what we do and that is exactly what prevents us from being calm and ultimately happy.

All our problems come from this little fact - we want things to be different than they are. If we except them - where are all the problems now?

Yes, correct - there is no problem anymore, because we ourselves stopped creating problems by excepting the world as it is. In our peaceful mind we are happy and enjoy every moment, being grateful for everything we get!

Question: "Yeah, but this is so difficult to achieve! It is impossible!"

I sure agree that it is difficult, but it is not impossible - just don't let things worry you, but try to look beyond them and think of the many things that could go worse. In reality, this is the hardest thing to do, but hey, why were we given this life and this conscious mind if not for thinking about life and becoming ultimately happy? Aren't we all seeking happiness in life? Of course we do, but the only way we can really be happy is to accept changes and accept the world as it is - we should look above this material world of illusions. Remember, seemingly bad things will always be here with us! What makes the difference is how we perceive them!

End of the world? Does it really matter?

Life is fair...

Question: "Why does life seem so cruel and unfair? Is it fair that people suffer?"

Answer: "This question is one of the basic questions in life. As you live and experience your life, you inevitably face cruelties of life, such as diseases, wars, hunger, "you father loosing a job", death of a loved one and so on. The funny thing is, that most of the people actually don't focus on this question, but just sort of let it go unanswered. I, however, can't let this question go unanswered, because if there is something unfair in this world, there is no reason to live, there is no reason to do good deeds and to be nice to each other, because if something unfair happens just once, you can never know when it will happen again. But as you observe your life and as you observe the world, you realize that everything is governed by the law of cause and effect, which means that if you break a cup full of tea, the tea will be poured all over the place and if you kill someone, he will die. These are just two simple examples, but everywhere you look, everything that happens, happens for a reason. As I said earlier, if just once something happened without a cause, you could never be sure when it will happen again and the whole concept of justice would fail.

If this is so (and the tea from a broken cup always spills on the floor), our lives and our world is governed by justice and fairness, because everything that happens in our lives and in our world, has a cause. Now, the question was good - "life SEEMS so cruel...", but in reality the whole concept of cruelty is actually based on the fact, that something is happening to someone for no reason! So yes, life seems cruel, but if you look beyond the observed moment (of someone loosing a job for example), you realize that only one's actions in the past could have lead to the current situation - this is the law of cause and effect in practice. For example, if I yell at my boss, I will probably get fired - but this situation would be so cruel and unfair to someone who wouldn't know that I yelled at my boss. Now all we have to do, to understand all various situations in life, is to expand the understanding of the law of cause and effect to every single situation and beyond this current life. Now, if you killed someone in this or in your previous life, this action is going to have certain effects. This is basically the law of karma - what you sow, you will reap. Without this law of karma, our lives would be unfair and justice wouldn't exist. How can you explain that someone is born without a leg or is born in Africa with nothing to eat?? If there would be no previous actions that lead to this situation, there would be unfair suffering of those people and if just one person suffered without a reason, NOTHING would be truly fair anymore. If you kill someone in this life and manage to get away, you still are going to eat the fruits of your actions. Only if you truly realize this simple fact, you realize that it cannot be any different with other "less significant" actions. Now I ask you: "How can anything be unfair?"

If you look at life, nature, people, ... nothing can never be unfair!

No Extremes

Question: "How can you follow such a path, described in the previous post in this messy, hyped-up, fast paced western life? Shouldn't you go somewhere else where there is a more peaceful enviroment?"

Answer: "There is no better place to practice a calm and peacful mind than here in this fast paced life, which gives you an impression that you can't live in peace. This is because the real peace, the real calmness of mind does not come from around you, but from your inside. It is only the inside that can make you peaceful, happy and calm. If you try to find peace and happiness anywhere else, you cannot succeed and it will only make you miserable. Just look at the mountain, standing there in peace and no winds can make it change, no winds can break it's peace. You have to be this mountain and not let "winds" of the modern world ruin your inner peace. Why not go in a more peacful enviroment? Well, if you are in a peaceful enviroment, it is easier to think that you are peaceful eventhough you are not, because momentarily nothing from the outside bothers you. But what would happen, if you came back to the "real life" again? After a few days, the same things that bothered you before, would most certainly bother you again. By being constantly under the pressure of this fast-paced real life, you constantly have the chance to test your inner peace - if you become angry or unsettled, because of something from the outside, then you know that you have to work on yourself and eventually you will realize that peace never comes from the outside. Even when you do realize that, there is no reason not to live a normal life in your "natural" enviroment, because, as mentioned before, peacefulnes lies solely in your percepcion of the outside world."

Only the middle way can bring you happiness. No extremes.

The Path

To write the first post is usually as tough as writing a good introduction to a book or make a good first beat in a music track.

I left The First Post completely empty, but it is empty for a reason. Actually the emptiness of The First Post shows the whole purpose of this blog, because the empty post is the happiest post of all posts anywhere in this world. It is the happiest, because nothing limits it and it expresses nothing - it simply just IS.

Just like The First Post, which is completely empty, so should our mind become completely empty of illusions, thoughts, desires, internal dialogues and other mental actions that basicly form our Self and make us unhappy. By achieving that, we'll be as happy as The First Post, we'll be the happiest of them all.

Question: "Why are you writing the second post, if the first one expressed everything this blog and this life is about?"

Answer: "Well, as you can experience for yourself, your own mind is a seamingly endless stream of thoughts and although the goal of everyone of us should be to empty our minds, this is hard to achieve. There is no mountain in this world on which you can climb without climbing first. And for that climibing part, I am writing this blog. To reach the top of the mountain, you need to go along a certain path, which eventually leads you to the top and in real life it is the same, because you cannot achieve anything without a proper amount of effort, concentration and devotion to that goal. However, one should not forget that trying to achieve happiness is different from other goals, it is the basic goal of all human beings and just as there are many different ways to reach the same top of the mountain, so there are many different paths that lead to happiness. This blog is written as one of this paths, it is written to help you think about yourself, because without thinking about oneself, pure happiness is impossible to reach."
